The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
HJF is seeking a Property Control Technician to work with designated programs to track all accountable property. Coordinates with the program property custodians to ensure the execution of physical inventories, tagging of equipment, and recording maintenance of equipment. Works with the Manager to schedule annual inventories and to reconcile discrepancies in the Oracle Fixed Asset and Asset Panda Inventory Management System based on physical inventories. This is the lower of two levels within the Property Control Technician position.
This position will be in support of the Fixed Assets team within the HJF Finance Department.

Responsibilities
  • Schedules and travels to multiple locations to conduct physical inventories.
  • Communicates and provides training with property custodians concerning equipment related issues.
  • Interacts with installation personnel on equipment receipt, tagging, and other logistical responsibilities.
  • Requests and collects paperwork related to equipment disposition.
  • Reconciles inventory within databases to physical inventories on-site.
  • Controls the distribution and utilization of property bar code labels.
  • Assists custodians in the maintenance of proper asset status (i.e. use, disposals, retirements, location, etc.).
  • Reviews and updates inventory management system.
  • Documents the maintenance of all purchased equipment and documents equipment conditions.
  • Investigates lost, damaged, and stolen property and notifies insurance personnel of the loss.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of an inventory management system.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office products, mainly Excel.
  • Knowledge of Federal Uniformed Guidance (UG) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as it relates to property management.
  • Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Military background is a plus but not required. 
Physical Capabilities 
  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to travel.
Work Environment
  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
