The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. This position will be in support of the Deployment Associated Infections Division, Operationally Relevant Infections Department at the Naval Medical Research Command to provide scientific support to the Immunology Branch. The Immunology Branch performs research and leads development of preclinical enteric animal models to serve as tools for combatting antimicrobial resistant enteric infections, as well as supports a number of products under clinical evaluation. As a member of the Deployment Associated Infections Division, the incumbent will work directly under the programmatic and scientific supervision of the principal investigators (Drs Renee Laird and Frederic Poly) to develop, conduct and manage research projects targeting interventions like vaccines and immunoprophylactic products for the prevention of diarrhea caused by bacterial enteropathogens including ETEC, Campylobacter jejuni, EAEC and Shigella spp. The candidate will investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of immunological and microbiological scientific principles and concepts to products under development.

HJF is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow is Responsible for initiating and carrying out research projects in collaboration with a research team. Pursuits research along a focused line of inquiry and has a manuscript in development.
