Job Description
Title: Cashier
Reports To: Store Manager
1. Statement of the Position-
Every Cashier full or part time is responsible for maintaining the image of Energy Mart Stores. on their shift by giving impeccable customer service and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store. The requirements for this position are a willingness to follow company policies and procedures, a “team player” outlook, a people-friendly personality and a smiling face.
2. Duties and Responsibilities-
A. General
• Being courteous to customers, including greeting and thanking each customer.
• Operating the cash register and other required devices in a manner that does not impede the flow of customer traffic.
• Report to work in uniform, in compliance with the dress code and as scheduled on time.
• Follow all city, county, state and federal laws including laws pertaining to the
sale of alcohol and tobacco.
• Manual operation of the gas pumps and CRIND.
• Know and be able to perform all items on the Training Checklist.
• Perform specific tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
• Stay familiar with the 911 book, Price Book, Merchandisers and other company correspondence.
• Use suggestive selling techniques.
• Keep Store Manager informed on store activities.
B. Bookkeeping
• Do a complete shift change when beginning and finishing a shift.
• Complete an accurate and legible shift report.
• Count and balance cash drawer

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
