General Summary of the Position:
Perform tasks necessary for the day-to-day operations of municipal wastewater systems, which includes the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant, collection system, and pump stations. Manages and assists crew members to maintain these systems.

- Manages crew members to accomplish assigned and required tasks
- Maintain a clean job site at all plant and pump station locations
- Monitor, clean, maintain, and secure tools, equipment, and company vehicles daily to eliminate potential hazards and/or losses
- Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed daily
- Other duties as required
- Basic mathematical and writing skills
- Communication and people skills to work successfully with fellow employees
- Ability to read meters and gauges and complete reports
- Ability to trouble shoot mechanical and electrical problems
- Knowledge of plumbing for water and wastewater systems
- Knowledge and understanding of the proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in the maintenance of water and wastewater facilities and systems
- Thorough knowledge of applicable safety precautions
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum of a Class 3 Wastewater Operator Certification preferred. Ability to obtain one required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a water/wastewater operator preferred
- Valid appropriate state driver’s license (general operator license) required; Class A or B CDL strongly preferred
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, asphalt, water, and sewage
