Heluna Health is Hiring a Psychiatric Social Worker II - Central Juvenile Hall Near Los Angeles, CA

Salary: $35.06-$47.91 per hour

Work Schedule: 1:30pm-10pm shift, 5 days a week that must include at least one weekend day (Options: Sunday-Thursday; Saturday-Wednesday; Tuesday-Saturday)

SUMMARY

Full time, experienced, licensed, Psychiatric Social Worker needed to work in a fast-paced multi-departmental environment with incarcerated youth on the 1:30pm to 10pm shift, including weekend days. 

This is a temporary, full time, benefitted position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs direct client care activities including intake assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, individual, group and family therapy.
  • Participates as a member of the OD (Officer of the Day) team providing crisis, emergency intake, assessment, and HOPE Center daily rounds, including participating as a member of the RESOURCE team.
  • Collaborates with juvenile justice partners: Probation Department, Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), Department of Health Services (DHS) and county contracted agencies involved in Juvenile Justice Mental Health Program.
  • Records daily progress notes in youth’s chart and ensures all records accurately reflect level of functioning and progress, as well as meet State, Federal and County guidelines.
  • Completes all paperwork, including information needed by Probation staff on the living units to effective work with youth.
  • Communicates with clinical supervisor and other appropriate staff members regarding youth’s progress.
  • Provides clinical consultation to multidisciplinary staff (e.g. Probation, DHS, and LACOE).
  • Advocates on the behalf of patient for treatment and resources to provide quality and continuity of care.
  • Formulates and implements aftercare plans assuring continuity of care upon release.
  • Provides case management services as needed to clients and his/her family.
  • Conducts collateral contacts with youths’ family members, probation deputies, school personnel, and significant others involved with patient.
  • Assesses clinical needs of population served and works with administrative staff to develop and/or improve programs and services.
  • Participates in Multi-Disciplinary Team Meetings (MDT’s) to discuss and evaluate client treatment and progress.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings and other meetings as assigned.

 Education/Experience

  • A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work.

Certificates/Licenses/Clearances

  • A valid and active license as a Licensed Clinical Social Workerissued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
  • Successful clearance through Los Angeles County’s Live Scan process.
