The Alameda County Health Promotion and Community Partnership Program Evaluation internship offers an exciting opportunity for an MPH student to engage in program evaluation activities within the Health Promotion and Community Partnership (HPCP) Unit of the Alameda County Public Health Department. The intern will collaborate with the HPCP team to evaluate the impact of County-funded projects, enhance understanding of community programs' effectiveness, and contribute to broader public health initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collaborate with the HPCP Unit team to engage in Photovoice and related activities.
• Co-facilitate workshops to build skill and capacity of community partners in evaluation.
• Support data collection activities to gather quantitative and/or qualitative information.
• Assess and analyze the impact of community programs using relevant methods.
• Synthesis data findings to draw meaningful insights into program effectiveness.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist with other projects as time and interest allows.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Basic proficiency in quantitative or qualitative data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

• Demonstrated reliability and integrity.

Preferred

• Familiarity with community engagement strategies.
• Knowledge of program evaluation frameworks.

Education/Experience

• Current, Master of Public Health degree seeking student or completion of a bachelor’s degree or higher in a health-related field, required
• Completion of at least one graduate level course in public health, biostatistics, infectious disease, or epidemiology, required
• Experience conducting interviews with or working with program participants, preferred
• Experience writing reports, or training materials, preferred
