We’re currently looking for an Occasional Babysitter in Pittsburgh, PA 15201

A lovely family in upper Lawrenceville is seeking an occasional babysitter for their 4 year old to start as soon as possible. Backup care is needed intermittently 1-4 times per month when the child has school inservice days and for date nights. The family needs care 5-6 hours between the hours of 9am-5pm on any day between Monday-Friday. They also need care for occasional date nights once per month which can be Thursdays or Fridays from 5pm-9pm or 6pm-10pm; timing for date night requests is flexible. Those applying do not need to be available for all requests, but must understand that there are no guaranteed hours for this position. The child loves arts & crafts, going to local parks, music & singing, and playing outside. Mom and dad work from home and the candidate will be responsible for keeping the child engaged during their daytime requests. There is a small friendly 12lb dog and a senior cat in the home, however, no pet care is needed. A great candidate will be creative, easy-going, have a positive attitude, and a good sense of humor.

• Compensation: $25 per hour gas reimbursement when driving the child
• Schedule: Intermittent; 1-4 days per month for 5-6 hour periods

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engaging with the child in arts & crafts, outside time/neighborhood walks, puzzles, and other activities
• Occasional driving; taking the child to local parks - furthest distance ~10 minutes
• Preparing lunch for the child; i.e. chopping fruits & veggies, macaroni and cheese, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of paid professional childcare experience
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be UTD on CPR certification or willing to renew
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have a reliable vehicle to transport the child - car seat will be provided
• Must have a valid driver’s license clean driving record
• Must be comfortable with small friendly dogs and cats
