Job Location: HYC Main Office - Whittier, CA
Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $26.00 - $27.00 Hourly

Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Dream Resource Centers operated by Helpline Youth Counseling, Inc., in various school campuses, the Stop-the-Hate Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to the Stop-the-Hate Program Manager with administrative contractual obligations and program-related obligations.

Under the direct supervision of the Dream Center Manager, the Stop-the-Hate Coordinator will/be:

  • Provide administrative support for developing and implementing a Youth-lead Safe Pathway Program between Middle School and High School Students.
  • Support Stop-the-Hate and Dream Resource Center staff with social media messaging, promotion of events/activities.
  • Provide administrative support in full implementation of Program’s Workplan.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Dream Resource Center/Stop-the-Hate Program Manager with administrative contractual obligations and program-related obligations.
  • Responsible for providing support to Wellness Specialists in coordinating outreach events, making program-related purchases, and program-related administrative duties.
  • Assist in leading collaborative and community capacity –building efforts which may include summit, conferences, townhall meetings.
  • Develop, organize, and collaborate to coordinate and/or participate in outreach activities/events and/or educational presentations.
  • Work with Stop-the-Hate staff, Dream Center staff in networking with city officials, school administration, and other partners.
  • Responsible for implementing a process that will ensure proper documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mental health/human services field preferred.
  • Experience in networking with schools, municipalities, and community agencies in providing youth services programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to the school's mission and be willing to work diligently, even on non-observed days, to ensure the continuous improvement and success of our educational community.
  • Must be able/willing to travel as position requires cross collaboration partnerships, Trainings, and Meetings across LA County.
  • Superb planning and organizational skills with a proven track record for strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience in leading, facilitating engaging and/or organizing youth activities.
  • Strong relationship-building/maintaining, networking skills, and great organizational skills.
  • Competency to work with the various ethnic/cultural groups.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in written form as well as verbally.
  • Ability to pass background check and criminal clearance.
  • Valid California driver’s license, current auto insurance, a good driving record, and must be cleared to drive for business purposes by our insurance broker.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in working with a community-based organization and school districts.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired.
