About us
Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank (HHFFB) provided $16 million worth of food to over 350 partner agencies in Berks and Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania in fiscal year 2023. In the Fall of 2023 Helping Harvest celebrated 40 years of making a difference for individuals and families dealing with the challenges of hunger and food insecurity in the region.
To keep pace with our continued growth expanding programs and facilities, we are growing our Development and Marketing team.
Direct Response Fundraising Manager
HHFFB is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented fundraising staff member to join our growing Development and Marketing Team as our Direct Response Fundraising Manager. This position will report to and collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to help raise support and awareness for the work of Helping Harvest. This role will entail managing a communications program that works to acquire, retain, and engage donors through direct mail/email, and digital communications, as well as online fundraising platforms while developing an infrastructure to improve the quality of the overall program.
Duties:
- Working with our direct mail agency to plan, implement, and monitor the performance of several direct mail and email solicitation appeals per year.
- Analyze fundraising results to identify trends and patterns for data-driven decision-making and adjust strategies to maximize donations.
- Manage our online giving program to increase participation and encourage new online giving and promote new digital giving platforms, crowdfunding, and other opportunities.
- Work with the Chief Development Officer to determine solicitation strategies and appeals for increased giving opportunities for major and planned giving prospects.
- Develop, implement and manage a new Helping Harvest monthly giving program.
- Generate and implement regular mail/email communiques and touch-points for cultivating/stewarding a portfolio of mid-level donors.
- Along with other team members, provide support for Helping Harvest events and represent Helping Harvest at community events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and relevant fundraising experience required.
- 3-5 years of development, digital marketing, or direct-response fundraising experience preferred.
- General computer skills including MS Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
-Detail oriented, strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of DonorPerfect or similar fundraising CRM database system.
- Experience in volunteer management is a plus.
- Willingness to work occasional evening or weekend hours.
