SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (9am-5pm shift)
  • Salary range $19.50 - $21.00/hour (non-exempt). Salary based on skills and experience.
  • Up to 6% annual bonus potential.

A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU AT HH:

  • Communicates all individual needs to supervisor including schedules, medical, behavioral, and family needs. 
  • Participates as a member of the individual’s interdisciplinary team and attends all team meetings/staffings as required. 
  • Complete paperwork and documentation as assigned including but not limited to; lesson plans, data tracking, monthly, quarterly or yearly reports. 
  • Provides supervision to, and actively engages individuals as assigned. 
  • Trains and supports through individualized plans in the areas of activities of daily living, community integration, leisure, and work skills either individually or in a group setting. 
  • Set up work/programming areas in the most effective manner to maximize training potential. 
  • Inspect all work to ensure all standards are being met. 
  • Implement and document individual training objectives.
  • Assist with ADL’s, feeding, and toileting as per individualized need. 
  • Implement activities and recreation per the programming schedule.
  • Provide for the safety and security of individuals along with Helping Hand property. 
  • Follow Helping Hand procedures when dealing with an emergency including, but not limited to, calling 911, ensuring the safety of the individuals, and notifying the supervisor. 
  • Ensure safety including conducting emergency drills and other documentation. 
  • Maintain assigned space in a clean and orderly manner. 
  • Safely drive individuals for various programming purposes, this includes community events in the evenings and possibly weekends.
  • Assist with monitoring and transitioning of new clients into the program.
  • Plan and implement quality recreational activities and opportunities onsite and in the surrounding community for the after-hours groups.
  • Communicate and problem-solve issues that arise within the after-hours program.
  • Cohesively work with volunteers within the program setting. 
  • Must be able to work at any of Helping Hand's facilities as assigned. 
  • Must attend all team/agency meetings and fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency, including but not limited to crisis management. 
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

Qualifications


LAND THIS OPPORTUNITY BY HAVING:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must apply for PACE certification.
  • Experience working with people with I/DD preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize multiple urgencies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about to assist clients/students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. 
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer). 
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in file cabinets or assist clients/students. 
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 
  • The ability to ensure and maintain a safe environment for yourself and all clients by using proper professional crisis management techniques and in accordance with all agency training policies.
