What You’ll Do
HELP R.O.A.D.S. is a comprehensive, non-residential individual and family safety program providing a variety of services designed to assist in empowering survivors of domestic violence, other crime victims, and their families. As Child Care Coordinator, you’ll assist the Director of Children’s Services in implementing programming within the Children’s Room, serve as a resource for staff and clients on how to assist children affected by domestic violence, and work in collaboration with onsite and offsite partners.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing daily children’s activities in the Children’s Room.
• Serving as a resource for staff and clients on how to assist children affected by domestic violence.
• Engaging parents in appropriate on-site groups and services.
• Collaborating with all Brooklyn Family Justice Center partners, both on and offsite.
• Acting as a referral resource for families.
• Providing childcare to children whose caregivers visit the FJC in Brooklyn.
• Supervising program volunteers and interns, as assigned.
• Coordinating in-kind donations for the Children’s Room and distributing donations to clients.
• Helping to connect children and their caregivers with children’s resources in their communities.
• Ensuring that all program staff is aware of the Family Justice Center and HELP USA's philosophy, policy, and procedures and holding program staff accountable for functioning in accordance with this philosophy, policy, and procedures.

You’re a great fit for this role if you have:

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience and skills.
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience in domestic violence field including work with children.
• Physical ability to work with children in a variety of settings.
• Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
• Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) a plus.
