We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Level 3 Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team in supporting the intelligence community in Annapolis Junction, MD. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity, security, and efficiency of our systems infrastructure. This position requires a deep understanding of system administration, networking, and security protocols, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

1. System Administration:

   • Manage and administer complex systems infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
   • Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems and software applications.
   • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
   • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.

2. Networking:

   • Design, implement, and manage network configurations, ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, collaborate with network engineers for advanced problem resolution.
   • Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard network infrastructure.

3. Security:

   • Enforce security policies and procedures to protect classified information and sensitive data.
   • Conduct regular security audits and implement necessary measures to address vulnerabilities.
   • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security standards.

4. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with other IT professionals, including system architects, engineers, and developers, to implement and support systems solutions.
   • Collaborate with end-users to understand their needs and provide timely technical support.
   • Participate in project planning and implementation, ensuring systems align with organizational goals.

5. Documentation:

   • Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
   • Keep documentation up-to-date to facilitate knowledge transfer and support continuity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration.
• Strong proficiency in administering Linux and Windows server environments.
• In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and security measures.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Security or other relevant certifications preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• TS/SCI Poly Required
