Hellas Construction, Inc. is Hiring a Construction Superintendent Near Tampa, FL
Hellas Construction Inc., a leading sports construction company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our Tampa, FL area, and surrounding areas team.
As a Construction Superintendent you will lead day-to-day operations at the job site, maintain project schedules and works with inspectors and officials. The Superintendent will be actively involved in the project from initial stages through punch out. They will advise the Project Manager of work performance, productivity, safety compliance, and schedule daily. This role will report directly to the Director of National Operations.
Responsibilities:
- A critical function is to bring the project from pre-construction through construction and final completion.
- Prepare and develop the Project Schedule along with the Project Manager
- Coordinate and supervise all trades
- Maintain on-site project files and reports
- Review all submittals
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings
- Coordinate all stages of inspections as required by contract documents and authorities
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with the Project Owner and Program Manager
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience with collaborative delivery construction methods (design-build, CMAR, JOC, etc.) as a Superintendent or General Superintendent.
- Skilled with electronic tools like estimating software (e.g., On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam), Microsoft Office, Procore, P6 and spread sheets.
- Prior leadership on complex projects.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Must be open to travel.
- Read blueprints
- PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE EXPERIENCE IN CONSTRUCTION WITH REPUTABLE GENERAL CONTRACTORS.
- 3 years of Superintendent experience leading a crew/team.
- Ability to read, understand and apply all contract documents.
- Demonstrated and proven ability to direct work and manage subcontractors, suppliers etc.
- Candidate must possess: Integrity, Industriousness and Professionalism.
- Systematically develops contingency and communication strategies into plans.
- Builds highly effective team culture.
- Excellent business judgment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and confidently execute decisions which involve incomplete data and ambiguity.
- The ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities.
- A strong sense of urgency and initiative. Able to quickly study and react to complex issues.
- Lead with diplomacy and strong communication skills to handle and resolve conflicts in a firm but fair manner.
