Helix Resources is currently recruiting for Experienced QA/QC Inspectors. The location for these positions will be in the Morgan City, LA and surrounding areas.Qualifications:
• CWI a plus
• Must be able to meet all physical requirements
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be knowledgeable in multiple welding processes, and the materials used for each process
• Must be a team player and have effective communication skill in dealing with co-workers and any other work-related contacts
• Must have basic knowledge of the construction processes involved in heavy industrial construction
• Must be able to use problem solving skills and critical thinking to resolve and identify issues, including safety risks
• Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge with filling out reports
• To obtain a Visual and Dye Penetrant Certification through JVIC Quality Department
• Employee will be required to adhere to long periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
• Able to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools with up to 70 ft-lbs. of pressure
• May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
• Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, work off platforms and man lifts, and may occasionally work out on an open structure using the appropriate fall protection requirements
• Must have good visual acuity and depth perception
• Must be able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including in the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
•Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots
Responsibilities:
• QA/QC Shop Inspectors will be responsible for inspection of fabricated and machined materials, assembled structures, and industrial processes for quality, deviations, or defects according to specifications
• This position will be inspecting welds and welding processes
• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations
• Read and interpret isometric drawings and specifications
• Perform visual inspections, approve, or reject welds according to specifications
• Provide information regarding processes and specifications to welders, supervisors, and other appropriate members
• Will test welders for qualifications
• Will interact and coordinate efforts with contracted or internal weld x-ray teams
• Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results
• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics
