Since 1967, Helen Keller National Center (HKNC) has been committed to improving the lives of individuals who are DeafBlind or have a combined hearing and vision loss. We currently have an exciting full time career opportunity available to join the HKNC team as a Full time Rehabilitation Instructor. Responsible for evaluating and providing training in, skills of independent living with consumers to foster a more independent and productive lifestyle in the community.
*This position requires travel from the Los Angeles area up to Bakersfield, CA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform independent living skills assessment to determine realistic short and long-term goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Teaching, or Special Education
Knowledge of Braille and sign language. Fluency in American Sign Language is preferred or candidate must become proficient within two years of employment.
