Heffernan Insurance Brokers is Hiring a Specialty Practice Leader Near Los Angeles, CA

Objective:
HIB Marketplace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, is looking for a motivated professional to play a fundamental role in building and scaling our Specialty Products Division. HIB Marketplace is a digital wholesaler, building out Specialty Practices platforms which will include pre-negotiated/recommended coverage terms, conditions, and limits, as well as pre-and post-claim response and service. HIB Marketplace will bring retail agents a best-in-class product suite from a panel of carriers and solutions for the complex and constantly evolving specialty marketplace. HIB Marketplace's creation of a turnkey Specialty practice will enable delivery of consistent and compelling solutions, insights, and services platform to our customers.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Maintain, source, vet, and solidify a panel of carriers to deliver cyber, professional liability, management liability and other specialty coverage to existing and prospective clients.
  • Establish preferred vendor and technology partnerships to develop a suite of products and tools to proactively support clients' risk management and deliver valuable services.
  • Stay educated on current specialty market landscape around liability and exposure issues, risk management, and technology.
  • Produce state of the market, educational and marketing written and video content in coordination and with support from the HeffGroup marketing team for agents and insured customers, as well as keep product specific help content up to date within agent applications.
  • Be a consultative presence with brokers and clients throughout the sales process and pre/post claims incidents.
  • Remain informed around the specialty market competitive landscape (opportunities and challenges) and collaborate with panel carriers on how to evolve to innovate and take advantage.This may include in-depth review of carrier forms, facilitation/creation of custom Marketplace endorsements, manage/update custom HIB Marketplace applications and other projects.
  • Work with broker team to achieve agreed upon metrics for successfully binding specialty premium volume through the Marketplace platform.
  • Represent the Company at conferences, broker meetings, association presentations, trade shows, etc.
  • Attend periodic relevant education courses and sales training and be open and responsive to coaching.
  • Communicate our brand identity and represent us through professionalism and Heffernan core values.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to complete the responsibilities outlined above in the territory.
  • Adhere to established company workflow and compliance processes.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Education - High school graduate/GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of specialty (cyber, management liability, professional liability) focus in the insurance industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of business development experience (insurance industry preferred).
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of cyber, management liability, professional liability coverage and marketplace.
  • Must be effective and articulate with presentations to brokers and consumers.
  • Must have a strong presence and be able to articulate well on the phone and in person.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professional demeanor and behavior are required.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
