Objective:

HIB Marketplace Services LLC, a wholly owned company of Heffernan Insurance Brokers, is looking for an insurance professional to join its digital wholesale team. This is a role for those looking to support company growth and profitability objectives through technical underwriting and product knowledge as a production underwriter.

Responsibilities Include:

• Builds and maintains strong relationships with agents/producers/account managers, supporting the lead broker, with a professional and courteous approach.
• Conduct education sessions for retail agents around Marketplace products and underwriting guidelines for HIB Marketplace carrier/MGU partners including, but not limited to, Cyber, D&O, Miscellaneous Professional.
• Point person working with carrier and MGU underwriting partners to meet line of business and coverage needs of retail agent’s client.
• Serve as technical resource for agency partners on form language and comparing coverage for Specialty lines of business.
• Coordinate all aspects of renewal marketing process with client and provide program structure, review, and analysis.
• Prepare summaries to be transmitted with policies. Policies to be checked and transmitted in a timely manner.
• Work with staff to process midterm endorsements in a timely manner.
• Prepare account proposals for presentation.
• Explain and clarify coverage forms to retail agents.
• Travel for client and carrier meetings, customer events, association events and conferences. Some overnight travel may be necessary.
• Thorough documentation is required on each account with proper E&O procedures strictly followed.
• Maintain administration responsibilities through timely reporting and expense management, while following all HIB Marketplace documentation procedures.
• Ability to handle complex accounts as well as transactional flow.
• Other duties and special technical projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education – High School graduate/GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in an Underwriting, Account Management/Assistant or related position.
• Active P&C insurance license is required.
• Adaptable, self-starter, with experienced decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral.
• Problem solving, analytical, and marketing skills required.
• Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.
• Must be proficient with MS Suite; particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Professional demeanor and behavior. Embody the Heffernan Habits as illustrated herein.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic and changing start up environment.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
