We grow specialty mushrooms like shiitake, oyster, pioppino and more, using innovative growing techniques and technology. Our goal is to delight local restaurants and stores with the freshest and most flavorful mushrooms available.

Job Overview: We are seeking a part-time Sales Associate to join the Hedgehog team! As a Sales Associate at Hedgehog, you will be responsible for expanding the company's book of business by selling mushrooms to local restaurants, as well as stores, and any other establishments looking for mushrooms.

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing Lists: Identify and compile lists of potential restaurant and store partners in the Nashville area to target for mushroom sales.
• Sample Delivery: Coordinate with our farm team to pick up and deliver mushroom samples to chefs and decision-makers.
• Customer Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and promoting repeat orders.
• Store Visits: Visit existing stores to check-on products, build relationships with staff, and assist with marketing efforts.
• Sales Techniques: Test and evaluate various sales techniques, noting their effectiveness, to help develop a successful sales playbook for the team
• Other Support: As a startup, we may encounter unexpected tasks, and we seek someone who is open to helping out in diverse areas as needed, paid at $30/hour.

Qualifications:

• Hospitality experience: You have worked as a server, in the kitchen, or with restaurants or hotels in other capacities before
• Sales Savvy: While not essential, sales experience, particularly in food/bev is a plus
• Passion for mushrooms and knowledge of varieties and uses
• Willingness to travel throughout the Nashville area and access to a car
• Local Knowledge: You know the area and people in the restaurant industry

Location: In-person in Nashville

Compensation: This is primarily a commission-based position. Work flexible part-time hours with no cap on earnings. As you make sales, your income grows accordingly. If performing well, you can expect to make $500-$1000/ week or $30/hour. In addition, we provide mileage reimbursement and offer bonuses to reward exceptional performance. Finally, there may be occasional work outside of sales (e.g. store marketing or checking on other accounts) that will be paid hourly at $30/hour.
