Hebrew Educational Society is Hiring a Karate Instructor Near Brooklyn, NY

Agency Description: The Hebrew Educational Society, a thriving multi-service, comprehensive community center located in southeast Brooklyn, provides a diverse array of programs and services within a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment that is inclusive of people of all ages and ability levels.Programs include Early Childhood, After School, Camps, Athletic and Aquatic Activities, OlderAdults & People with disabilities.

Karate Instructors must teach the martial art of karate to students in group sessions for ages 3 -17, while demonstrating techniques and helping students perfect their own techniques.Instructors monitor students' progress and prepare them to advance in rank and belt. Instructors test students throughout the year and hold ceremonies to give students their new belts. If students go to competitions, the instructor will help prepare them and travel to competitions with the students to guide and coach them throughout the event.

Qualifications:

● Black belt in your chosen style

● Prior experience teaching martial arts to students of varying ages and fitness levels

● Proven ability to prepare students for participation in local, national, and international tournaments is preferred

● Physically agile

● Top-notch leadership skills

● Outstanding verbal communication skills with the capacity to command attention

● Respectful, supportive, and fair approach to teaching

● Excellent event-planning skills

● Deeply passionate about Martial Arts and self-development

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
