Duties:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum for preschool-aged children
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and families
- Monitor and assess children's progress, keeping records of their development
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities
- Manage classroom behavior and implement behavior management strategies when necessary
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting
- Knowledge of toddler care and early childhood development principles
- Familiarity with curriculum development and implementation
- Understanding of working with children on the autism spectrum
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with young children
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
Education and Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Associate degree (Preferred). * Previous 6 months-1year experience working with children. * Must poses a minimum of six (6) units in Child Development * If working with Infants must hold 3 CHDV units in Infant & Toddler or Zero – Three.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 per week
