Statement of Responsibility

The Responsibilities of Direct Care Staff will include maintaining a clean, cheerful environment, as well as assisting with the planning and preparation of nutritious meals. The caretaker is to provide and maintain a warm home like atmosphere which will allow optimum development to the individual. The Direct Care staff is responsible for general supervision of the resident in the home and should provide the resident with the best, safe and secure normal residential setting.

Minimum Requirements
Staff is required to have a valid driver's license and train on Policy and Procedures with the agency. Re-screening is done every 5 years and documented. Staff must have at least one (1) year experience working in the fields of nursing, social behavior, rehabilitative sciences or working with persons with developmental disabilities.

Job Description

• Observe resident in home setting and assisting with assessment of resident progress.
• Report any suspicious incidents or unusual occurrences such as abuse and neglect to the hotline and executive director immediately and document. (see attachment on abuse and neglect)
• Supervise and assist as necessary in preparation of meals.
• Supervise and participate in routine household maintenance.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings with the provider and APD /_ DCF/DD_ in service workshops.
• Maintain facility and resident records daily.
• Maintain a safe environment for the resident.
• Work closely with the group home Director, Supervise, and APD /_ DCF/DD_ staff and assist with training and other activities.
• Avoid the exploitation of any resident.
• Perform all duties as per supervisor and directors request.
• Staff is responsible for implementing the goals/objectives in the resident implementation plan.
• Keep daily progress notes and daily attendance logs.
• Responsible for residential habilitation services and non- residential services provided to the resident.
• Maintain records and receipts of resident funds.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
