Position Summary
Our showroom and factory locations have always been positive spaces for customers to visit. They get to see not only the beautiful stores but also the inner workings of the dinnerware and tile factories. We're looking for a candidate who can help our facilities staff keep the customer experience at the highest level of appreciation. We need someone with a positive attitude and outlook, who is friendly, flexible, and approachable.
This person will ensure that the showrooms and building surroundings are clean, freshly painted, nicely landscaped, and mechanically sound. This is a dual-site role, working in our San Francisco and Sausalito locations weekly.
An important part of this role is building out an inventory of hardware and equipment spare parts at each site.
This person will ensure that each site has the necessary inventory levels of critical equipment spare parts and hardware, resulting in less downtime on equipment when repairs are necessary. This person will also transfer inventory between sites as parts and hardware are needed for repairs and projects. Knowing what each site has in inventory and a centralized database for identifying parts and equipment will help the Facilities Department control costs.
This person will ensure that each site has the necessary inventory levels of critical equipment spare parts and hardware, resulting in less downtime on equipment when repairs are necessary. This person will also transfer inventory between sites as parts and hardware are needed for repairs and projects.
Responsibilities and Skills
  • Perform scheduled projects on facilities equipment which includes sanitizing and painting
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the building's storefronts and surrounding grounds
  • Provide light to medium landscaping: trimming of bushes or trees, watering and feeding plants, controlling weeds, and leveling sidewalk bricks.
  • Lead facility equipment exterior painting and coatings. Prep worksite by assembling and transporting paint materials, setting up scaffolding and ladders, laying paint runners, etc.
  • Janitorial Support. Fill in for our janitorial staff when someone is out. Janitorial duties include emptying trash or other waste materials, mopping and cleaning floors, and cleaning: restrooms, lunch rooms, offices, toilets, sinks, walls, and trash receptacles, as needed.
  • Sanitize surfaces (metal, wood, sheetrock, masonry, glass windows, etc) as scheduled utilizing approved cleaners, squeegees, brushes, sandpaper, scraping tools, brooms, power washer, and other hand & power tools. Apply coatings: primers, paints, stains, and clear coats to surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, etc. as needed.
  • Keep all areas freshly painted and/or coated on a rotating schedule with Heath-specific colors and finishes in different areas of the facility and on different equipment. Responsible for procuring, organizing, and safely storing materials in designated areas at each location.
  • Work with facilities managers to set inventory levels of hardware and equipment spare parts. Purchase hardware and equipment parts or other needed items when inventory levels are low.
  • Document and keep inventory up to date of hardware and tools inventory with nomenclature, quantity, location, and purpose in Limble CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software)
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in building maintenance-related work including landscaping, painting, and basic building repair
  • Basic Computer skills including experience with Google Suite like Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Limble CMMS program (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) or other similar programs
  • Experience with power tools and hand tools
  • Identify common hardware and equipment parts by nomenclature and purpose.
  • Work independently
  • Ability to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
Work Environment/Hours/ Compensation
This position is a dual-site full-time, non-exempt, role that is on-site; 2-3 days in our San Francisco Factory & Showroom located in the Mission District and 2 days in our Sausalito Factory & Showroom. You must have transportation to travel between our two locations. This position reports to the San Francisco Facilities Manager. The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or on an agreed-upon schedule with the manager. This position pays $30 -$32 hourly based on experience.

  • The ability to lift 50 lbs.
