Description

The Security Guard ensures a safe and orderly environment for program participants and staff. They are also responsible for ensuring that the building is evacuated in case there is an emergency.

 The Evening and Weekend Security Guard is responsible for covering the program Mondays-Fridays from 6 PM - 10 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM-5 PM during the school year.

During summer camp, security will work 5 PM to 9 PM ON Saturdays and Sundays while working 6 PM to 9 PM on Fridays, when trips are not taking place.

In addition to responsibilities below, performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Will use positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Avoids gossip and negative discussions. Remains flexible and adapts to change.
  • Serves as role model for program participants. Abides dress code. Always conducts self in a professional manner.
  • Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.
  • Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of management.
  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision, and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout the facility.
  • Supervise fire drills and emergency procedures.
  • Greet and screen all persons entering the building and outside play areas and Prevent vandalism and destruction of program property.
  • Assist staff in securing equipment and supplies and assist in registering participants, including processing, and issuing ID cards.
  • Maintain accurate participant register and sign-in sheets.
  • Remain sensitive and responsive to cultural differences present in the agency's service population.

Qualifications


  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • 1 Year of related experience
  • Must be able to work part-time hours
  • Must be flexible
  • Must have or willing to get S95
