Heartshare is looking for a Custodian

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:

•  In addition to responsibilities below, performs all other duties as assigned.
•  Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Avoids gossip and negative discussions. Remains flexible and adapts to change.
•  Serves as role model for program participants. Abides dress code. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times.
• . Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.
•  Participates in in-service trainings and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attends external trainings and workshops at direction of management.
•  Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency. Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
•  Perform basic housecleaning duties, including mopping and waxing floors, washing walls, moving furniture and other heavy objects, scouring and washing lavatories, sweeping and vacuuming
•  Remove refuse and garbage
•  Report any condition of building or equipment requiring special attention
•  Safely store all cleaning materials at all times
•  Maintain area outside of center, including snow removal
•  Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to ensure the well-being of program participants and/or center

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: High school diploma or GED
• Available to work Evening Shift 
• Two (2) years of experience
• Must be able to follow oral and written English instructions
• Capable of heavy physical activity and awareness
• Prior Custodial experience a plus. 
• Must have a F07 and S95 Certificate of Fitness
