Who We Are
Heartland Works, Inc. (HWI) is a private, non-profit company promoting economic growth in Northeast Kansas (Local Area II) through a variety of workforce services and solutions.
Using federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds, HWI (in
partnership with the Local Area II One-Stop Operator Consortium) operates four Workforce Centers (WFCs) where employers and job seekers find solutions to their employment and training needs.
The LAII WFCs are in the communities of Junction City, Lawrence, Manhattan, and Topeka. HWI and partner staff members in each WFC provide valuable assistance to people seeking careers, while also serving businesses seeking qualified employees. Services are extended throughout the seventeen-county service area.
About RETAINWORKS
The aim of RETAINWORKS is to help injured or ill workers remain in or return to their jobs by implementing and evaluating early intervention strategies. The unique intervention program works with employees, employers and healthcare providers, to address issues that can be factors in successful return to work as soon as medically possible.
About the Position
This position serves as a primary point of contact for employers, ensuring worksite accommodations, preparation for and/or understanding of medical restrictions and determining retraining needs, tracking individuals progress, grant activities and outcomes
