JOB OVERVIEW: 

• The Shipping Receiving Manager will manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies. In addition, this position will work closely with both Engineering and Production Management to ensure accurate raw material inventories. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / SKILL / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage Tool Room operations.
  • Ordering, warehousing, vending machine contract
• Shipping/Receiving 
  • Schedule outbound and inbound trucks as needed.
  • Coordinate structural truck deliveries. 
  • Manage rail car unloading & release. Control demurrage.
  • Manage unloading and release of cover barges.
  • Manage Access NS tracking dashboard and align with Global Shop
  • Manage shipping receiving clerks.
• Inventory
  • Schedule monthly cycle counts & full counts.
  • Maintain plate & structural steel yard maps. 
  • Prepare inventory counting sheets. 
  • Enter, analyze, and adjust inventory data in Global Shop as required.

  • Walk with auditor at year-end inventory to answer questions.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to resolve inventory discrepancies.
• The ability to take initiative, be responsible, flexible, and maintain organization in a rapidly changing environment while meeting hard fast schedule deadlines.
• Focus on safety, cost management and business growth in all interactions and directives.
• Optimize warehousing functions.
• Handle communications and negotiations with external suppliers.
• The ability to operate cranes and mobile equipment.

WORK CONDITIONS:

• Performing General Physical Activities—Considerable use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, walking, stooping, and handling of materials

• The environment is that of a heavy industrial worksite.
• Outdoor elements are a factor. Extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold
• Exposure to air particles such as dust and chemicals 
• Exposure to loud, penetrating noises in some work areas
• Proper personal protective equipment is required such as, metatarsal boots, ear plugs/earmuffs, safety glasses, pants, and hard hats.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferred B.S. Degree in a technical or business field

• 3-5 years of experience (Industrial related preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Strong computer skills including MS office & Global Shop 
• Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel
