The Nurse Practitioner will interview consumers and gather relevant history including current and previous psychiatric symptom, treatment and hospitalization, previous response to medication, substance use, physical health issues, history of abuse or neglect, violence and pertinent family history. ANCC Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Utilize effective communication methods to foster the therapeutic relationship and promote positive clinical outcomes. Gather data from multiple sources including reviews of previous medical records, psychosocial and other evaluations performed by the multidisciplinary team and complete a comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of those served. Develop a diagnosis based on the data gathered in accordance with ICD-10/DSM-5 classification systems Document and finalized all assessments within the timeframe dictated by the program Develop plan for treatment and input data in accordance with evidence based standards and practice guidelines. Work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to implement treatment plan. Prescribe psychiatric medication and refer consumers for further diagnostic and laboratory testing as needed. Educate consumer and families Monitor and review progress with multidisciplinary treatment team. Provide individual, group, family and pharmacologic therapeutic interventions as necessary. Document and finalize all treatment plans within designated timeframe. Complete and sign all discharge summaries timely. Make appropriate referrals Perform duties within Scope of Practice in accordance with professional standards, established clinical protocols and related Federal, State and County regulatory requirements. Engage in ongoing education, supervision, and training as required. Be well informed on current best practice standards and guidelines in psychiatry. Must be able to performs work independent within established medical standards of practice under a practice agreement with the medical director/physician. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Have and maintain a current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Missouri; Maintain a collaborative practice agreement with the medical director under contract that complies with all practice requirements of the State of Missouri; Have an MAT Waiver to be able to administer Suboxone Active DEA Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain certification throughout employment NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS HCBC reserves the right to follow the employment guidelines put forth by the state and each programs contractual agreements.
