Heartland Auto Repair Inc. has been a family-owned and operated Auto Repair Shop for 25 years. We are located in Fredericktown, MO 63645. We are a close group with a great atmosphere and culture. We also have a fully air-conditioned and heated shop!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Inspects and tests vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine
tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing
filters. Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working properly.
Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints;
conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and
electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components.
Identify mechanical problems and repair vehicles with computerized diagnostic
equipment, perform many tasks with greasy parts and tools, while sometimes in
uncomfortable positions.
Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and
systems.
Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
Perform basic care and maintenance, including oil changes, tuneups, and tire
rotations. Test and lubricate the vehicle’s engine and other major components.
Disassemble and reassemble parts.
Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and
combustion control standards.
Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
Explain to clients their automotive problems and the repairs done on their
vehicles
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions;
troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive
maintenance; calling for repairs.
Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading
technical publications.
Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related
results as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 7 years previous experience as an auto technician
Ability to analyze information, problem solve, and use critical thinking skills
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, & criminal record verification
ASE certification preferred
MO Inspector mechanic preferred
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs
Valid driver's license & good driving record (no points)
Minimum age of 18 years old
High School degree, GED or equivalent experience required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work 40-hours per week. Overtime may be required especially in bad weather.
Standing and Walking 40 hours per week.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to
moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is
frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
Will be required to work in all kinds of weather.
Must be able to manipulate body position in uncomfortable positions (i.e., laying
on ground, twisting/turning body within vehicle environment, etc.)
Usage of power equipment, chains, hoists, and tools and must take precautions
to avoid possible injury.
Small cuts and bruises are common.
