Heart and Vascular Partners is Hiring a Surgical Technician Near Oklahoma, OK

 
 

We are a fast-paced, growing heart and vascular surgery center seeking a Surgical Technician. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task. As a Surgical Technologist, you will be an integral part of our surgical team, helping to ensure the highest level of patient care by setting up and maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures.

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate surgeon and patient needs during a procedure.
  • Take care of specimens, prepare, check, and monitor medications, and assist with dressings.
  • Set up a sterile and sanitary environment and maintain a sterile field for the patient during procedures.
  • Utilize correct body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables to prevent injury to patients and personnel.
  • Follow relevant safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Participate in orientation and education of all operating room staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in stocking and restocking medical supplies.
  • Inspect, replace, and sterilize medical instruments.
  • Provide surgeons and patients with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification as a surgical technologist preferred, or similar experience in practical nursing or an operating room.
  • 1-2 years experience working as a surgical technologist.
  • Wire, balloon, stent endovascular skills preferred.
  • Continuing in-services and educations program are required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate required.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with a high volume of patients, families, and staff in a stressful environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and supplies located in the operating room.
  • prefer hybrid OR, cath lab, or vascular experience.

  • Hours variable based on the surgery schedule
  • 10-hour shifts

Work Environment

This position is a clinical position and will report to the office Monday- Friday from 6:30 am – 5:00 PM. 

Physical Requirements

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
