Heart and Vascular Partners is Hiring a Surgical Procedure Scheduler Near Colorado, CO

Job Title: Surgical Procedure Scheduler

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Surgical Procedure Scheduler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling cardiac procedures and surgeries, including pre-operative and post-operative follow-ups. The role involves extensive telephone communication, documenting work processes, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. The Surgical Procedure Scheduler will adhere to all written protocols and procedures set forth by the clinic.

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and schedule procedures and surgeries, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and optimal patient care.
  2. Schedule pre-operative consultations, tests, and procedures as required
  3. Arrange post-operative follow-up appointments
  4. Heavy telephone communication with patients, providers, and hospital scheduling sites to make, confirm appointments and provide necessary information. Patient communication for scheduling and pre-operative instruction.
  5. Document work processes accurately and maintain patient records as required
  6. Adhere to all HIPAA protocols and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  7. Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and addressing patient concerns as needed

Requirements:

  1. 1 years of experience in surgery scheduling or related field
  2. Strong knowledge of clinical/medical practice operations, procedures, terminology, and administrative procedures
  3. Ability to work in fast-paced environment and remain flexible in managing changing processes
  4. Exhibit high level of quality through attention to detail and monitoring of work processes
  5. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Additional certification or coursework in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or related field is desirable but not required

Epic experience preferred

Experience in hospital or ASC scheduling preferred
