Role Summary

The Director of Digital Health Innovation will work closely with the VP of Clinical Services and cross functional teams to create and operate a centralized enterprise level model to manage CIED’s, cardiac ambulatory monitors and all remote cardiac modalities that monitor arrythmias, hypertension and heart failure. 

The primary focus of the position is to integrate the latest advancements in mobile health, remote monitoring, information technology and cardiac device technology and to deliver best in class outcomes for Patients and Providers in a scalable, profitable model.

Essential Functions of The Role:

  • Design and develop clinical program to deliver cardiac monitoring and patient management across multiple practices and locations. 
  • Develop and execute standardized implementation programs to and drive timely and accurate adoption by clinical teams, managers, and direct patient care advocates.
  • Deliver on financial and operating targets as established through program budget; develop, communicate, and document project strategies and plans including financial goals, detailed schedule creation/maintenance, and operating KPIs. Provide input to establishing program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams, commercial teams, customers, and external partners depending on the program.
  • Forecast resource and skill set needs for the projects and participate in resourcing discussions/negotiation.
  • Provide direction and decision-making on contract negotiations involving all products within the area in partnership with accounts and other divisional stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback on competitive service lines and new product technologies to key internal stakeholders.
  • Guide the development, implementation and adoption of the specific program processes and related tools for providers and staff. 
  • Designing, sourcing, administering, and overseeing functional skills-based learning programs that result in enhanced effectiveness. A primary objective is the development of competencies and best practices. Reviewing and providing recommendations based on analyses.
  • Determine and monitor performance of activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management. 
  • Drive standards of excellence and sharing of best practices.
  • Provide recommendations to maximize ROI on CIED, ILR, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Ambulatory monitoring by continuously evaluating, assessing, and optimizing strategies and business models.

Essential Skills and Core Competencies: 

  • Clinical competence and experience in Device Clinic management; need to be able to discuss and debate alternative approaches in clinical delivery with credentialed clinician.
  • Servant leadership approach to managing and supporting teams and physician partners; humility and solution-first orientation to help others realize their potential.
  • Each practice device clinic team will require cultural awareness, humility, and the ability to influence and lead through change management.
  • Ability to deliver strategic insight from ambiguity or imperfect information; anticipating market and operational changes and affecting behavior and performance to realize emerging opportunities.
  • Clear and flexible written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with ability to convey and influence in the board room and on the clinic floor.
  • Ability to be an effective communicator who can lead and or be an active participant in related committees.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend all related financial reports, spread sheets and budgetary information and be able to translate this information into actionable items. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; including the establishment and adherence to related timelines and budgets.

Education and Experience Required:

  •  BA/BS degree
  • At least 15 years of experience of clinical and healthcare development and operations.
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be process oriented and understand the relationship and necessity of process to strategy.
  • Experience working directly and building trusting relationships with physicians.
  • Familiar with medical terminology 
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams, projects, tasks and goals.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability occasionally to lift files, office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. This position is primarily a desk position, requiring sitting longer hours at the computer typing on a keyboard.

Days/Hours: This is a full-time position, the schedule of which is determined by the Supervisor. Can work varying or longer schedules if needs require. 

Travel: Travel will be required to affiliated physician practices and quarterly off-sites.
