Your impact:

Hearst Magazines is hiring an Associate Motion Graphics Designer/Animator to join the Central Video Team. In this role, you will work closely with our Design Director and Executive Producers to create visually stunning and engaging motion graphics for a diverse range of projects, including YouTube video series for our brands, social media content, sizzle reels, presentations, and pitches. 

We're looking for an individual with a keen eye for design, a commitment to visual excellence, and the ability to consistently deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

This position will report to the Director of Design/Executive Producer.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Design Director and Executive Producers to conceptualize, design, and animate motion graphics for various projects
  • Create decks, infographics, and design elements for presentations
  • Perform basic retouching on photos to improve visual quality and consistency with brand standards
  • Curate fresh visual concepts and designs
  • Manage and complete multiple projects under tight deadlines

Technical Requirements:

  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop with an interest in 3D.
  • Basic video editing skills using software like Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Ability to work well in Keynote
  • A keen eye for design with proficiency in animation and motion graphics creation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in motion design, animation, or related field
  • Proven experience in motion graphics design (1-2 years preferred)
  • Expert communication, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for design and typography (must provide a portfolio of relevant work)
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and in-office as needed
  • 3D Animation experience is a plus
  • MUST SUBMIT REEL OF VISUAL WORK FOR CONSIDERATION

The base salary for this role is $64,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
