Maintenance Professional/Handyman

Job Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a skilled maintenance professional to work on our team delivering our Home Steward subscription and contracting services. In this role, you will deliver exceptional quality work to our clients through an established residential maintenance subscription program. Our ideal candidate is reliable, arrives on time, and minimally has experience with construction tasks, appliance repair, basic plumbing & electrical. We are looking for someone who is professional with our clients, is eager to learn our system and has some technical and administrative skills.

Candidate will work primarily on residential projects and will be required to follow company safety regulations at all times. You will collaborate with the Construction/Maintenance team supervised by the Director of Operations & Projects.

Position requires schedule flexibility. Limited benefits are associated with this position at this time. Hourly wage is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Onsite Construction & Home Maintenance (90%)

• Miscellaneous construction activities including carpentry, drywall, painting, minor plumbing and electrical, etc.
• Ability to collaborate with other carpenters, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects.
• Home maintenance includes following a Seasonal Checklist for inspecting and repairing over 250 items annually in a home. Including but not limited to: Roofs, Appliances, Safety Detectors, Mechanical Systems, Plumbing, Electrical and Cosmetic Finishes.
• Photographing job progress and findings during inspections and servicing.

Office Work: (10%)

• Posting Work Hours Daily
• Learn and utilize project management software and create Maintenance Activity reports
• Learn and utilize Google Suite for scheduling and Filing documents

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

• Completion of a vocational construction/carpentry program or apprenticeship preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction and residential maintenance.

Proven track record of successful projects and satisfied clients

Skills

• Knowledge of industry measurement, hand, and power tools.
• Demolition
• Residential maintenance and Servicing
• Final Clean up after maintenance and construction projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Able to work with little supervision.
• Punctual and follow established regulations and advocate for safety on each worksite.
• Professional appearance and manner appropriate to represent the company to clients and vendors.
• Basic Computer and Technical Skills

Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of residential construction, trades, and OSHA Safety
• Experience with home maintenance and construction
• Knowledge of green building would be a bonus

Physical:

• Able to drive
• Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight spaces.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to climb ladders and work outside.

Other:

• Valid California driver’s license and be insurable by the company.
• Have access to vehicle and generally be available between 8-5pm weekdays
• Flexible Schedule
• No record of any theft-related crime or felony.
• Not wear fragrances or use fragrant soaps, detergents, or strongly scented personal care products on workdays.
• Have your own trade tools
• Familiarity and experience using QuickBooks accounting software.
• Comfortable with Computer and MS Office (Word and Excel)
