Job Description:

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Clinical Support Staff who is organized, self-motivated and has expertise in customer service to come join our Minneapolis Occupational Medicine team!
Occupational Medicine focuses on the treatment and prevention of workplace injuries and offer preventative health and safety services.
As a Clinical Support Staff, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care. You will support the clinician and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Position Summary:
Occupational Medicine specific responsibilities:
  • Obtain health history information and vital signs, record findings in patient chart.
  • Administer immunizations according to the policy.
  • Monitor messages and relay clinician response via phone calls.
  • Enter orders for laboratory and radiology services.
  • Drug and Alcohol testing - On the job training and certification will be available.
  • Administer hearing, vision, and lung function tests - Special training will be offered.
  • Fit testing - Special training will be offered.
Other responsibilities:
  • Maintain current practice by obtaining continuing education in relevant practice areas.
  • Rooming patients according to guidelines.
  • Medication and clinical procedures are administered according to the policy. This may include DISCUS or AIMS assessment.
  • Charts are reviewed for the presence of pertinent information relevant to today's encounter.
  • Needed and requested health educational materials are provided to the patient and documented.
  • Exam rooms and treatment rooms are prepared for examination of the patient and set up for procedures, assist the clinician as needed.
  • Messages and test results are accurately received and relayed to the appropriate person/location in a manner consistent with clinic practices and/or standards.
  • All Equipment is properly maintained and calibrated according to procedure. Adequate records are kept.
  • Inform Frontline or Clinician's schedule status and assist in coordination of urgent and non-urgent clinician & Clinical Support Staff schedule changes to ensure patient and clinic staff needs are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
OR
Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by "The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
OR
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.
  • Must meet one of the following:
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one or more years pharmacy technician experience OR
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current Minnesota EMT License
Preferred Qualifications:
One or more years of healthcare experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
