Job Summary and Qualifications

The Division Director, Community Engagement reports to the Division Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Community Engagement. The Division Director supports the Division AVP of Community Engagement in strategic planning and development of community engagement initiatives that will lead to community impact and HCA Healthcare’s positive community reputation & relevance in the communities where HCA Healthcare operates across the country.

This position will be a partner to facility community engagement teams to ensure initiatives, programs, and projects are aligned to Division community engagement goals. The Division Director, Community Engagement manages and implements enterprise and Division-wide partnerships, supports colleague community engagement, and strategic initiatives. In addition to being an integral member of the Division community engagement team, the Division Director will serve as a primary liaison with facility senior leadership teams on all Division-wide community engagement initiatives and provide assistance to facilities as needed.

This position requires unique competencies, including systems thinking, orientation to learning, and collaboration. The Division Director, Community Engagement must be adept at navigating complex and dynamic systems, connecting and building trust among multiple stakeholders, as well as adapting to dynamic environments. The Division Director must also be available to support community engagement events after normal business hours (after 5PM) and on weekends, as needed.

What you will do in this role:

Strategic Planning:

  • Supports Division AVP of Community Engagement in creation of Division level community engagement plans.
  • Leverages interdisciplinary strategies and resources from across the company to gain efficiency.
  • Utilizes quantitative and qualitative research to guide strategy and execution.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Maintains excellent relationships though high quality, engaged service to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, implements plans and strategies to promote and support colleagues’ community engagement.
  • In partnership with other communications professionals, supports development of multimedia campaigns to promote community impact, including community reports, interactive web platforms, as well as print or digital collateral.
  • Represents Division and/or identifies individuals to represent Division for community activities where it has been determined such participation is beneficial to the organization.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for facility community engagement leads.
  • Serves as primary HCA Healthcare giving and volunteering platform administrator for Division, tracking colleague community engagement and Division/facility community contributions.

Community Engagement Plan Implementation & Evaluation:

  • Works closely with marketing, communications, and human resources teams to ensure successful implementations of community engagement plan, initiatives, programs, and projects.
  • Develops and coordinates events and programs in coordination with Division and hospital community engagement goals.
  • Develops and maintains annual budget for designated Division-wide community engagement programs. Identifies high impact use of budget dollars and evaluates ROI.
  • Manages, implements, and supports evaluation of Enterprise and Division-wide partnerships.
  • Coordinates Division-wide participation in sponsorships, donations, and volunteer initiatives. Manages evaluation of impact.
  • Implements best practice models, frameworks, tools & resources to successfully execute community engagement strategies.
  • Aligns with key stakeholders to develop standards, processes and documentation for community engagement programs & initiatives; incorporates strategic and standardized processes to build scalable projects and initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning & evaluation. Works closely with stakeholders to track key performance indicators and evaluate outcomes related to Division community engagement plan execution, community impact, and achievement of business goals.
  • Develops and maintains content for collateral related to Division community engagement.
  • Provides assistance to facility community engagement leads as needed.
  • Manages vendors as related to execution of community engagement plans.
  • Determines appropriate reporting metrics to clearly articulate successes and identify opportunities for change.
  • Proactively tracks and measures progress towards goals on a regular basis. Utilizes consistent processes to track and measure performance. Utilizes data to inform future plans and mid-year adjustments.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7 years of related experience
