Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Health Insurance Compliance Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our health insurance operations comply with all relevant regulations and standards. You will provide support to the compliance team and work closely with various departments to maintain adherence to applicable laws and guidelines.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to health insurance and ensure company policies and procedures align with these regulations.
  • Bi-Lingual English / Spanish
  • Policy Review: Review health insurance policies, contracts, and documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance-related documentation, including policies, procedures, and regulatory filings.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training materials on compliance policies and procedures to employees across different departments.
  • Audit Support: Assist in preparing for and participating in internal and external audits related to health insurance compliance.
  • Investigations: Collaborate with internal teams to investigate compliance-related issues, including complaints and potential violations, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct periodic risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on compliance activities, including findings, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supporting Compliance Initiatives: Assist in the development and implementation of compliance initiatives and projects, such as policy updates and process improvements.
  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory authorities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in healthcare compliance or health insurance administration.
  • Strong understanding of health insurance regulations, including HIPAA, ACA, Medicare, and state-specific requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and other relevant software applications.
  • Current Insurance License and AHIP certification preferred.
