Job Summary:

HLSG - Reino Linen Service is looking for an experienced leader to guide our production employees to success to provide quality service to our healthcare customers! This position will be responsible for directing and managing all plant operations at our Gibsonburg, Ohio, and Kalamazoo, Michigan locations with overall responsibilities for budgeting, labor production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities. Direct, motivate, and manage all employees to achieve plant performance goals, while actively supporting company policies and procedures. Develop and execute the yearly strategic goals to include revenue/profit budgets, key operational metrics, and safety goals. Providing operational leadership, training, positive communication, and direction to managers, supervisors, team leaders, and production workers to create a productive, safe work environment for all employees. Prepare weekly updates and monthly reports to present to the VP of Operations to ensure consistent communication. Ensure customer satisfaction and contract renewals by meeting fill rates and delivery time schedules. Partner with colleague General Managers on support when plants need backup resources and assistance.

To be successful in this role:

The General Manager must be motivated to plan/implement strategic coaching sessions with the operations team to establish short and long-term success metrics for individual and team development. Areas of development include operations, people management, policy/procedures, and overall leadership/decision-making. This requires consistent coaching and recognition of the team in order to maintain continuous development throughout the year.

General Manager must have an aptitude for utilizing plant data and dashboards for success in decision-making, employee development, and goal-setting throughout the year. This includes educating other members of the management team on the processes and importance of making informed decisions based on plant data.

Pay: Salary Range $100k-$120k

Schedule: Full-time

  • Monday-Friday with required weekend availability to assist with plant operations

Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership/training support to the management team and employees to ensure a high quality of performance, safety, and a positive work environment are maintained.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and standards are enforced equally, without prejudice or favoritism. This includes a high priority on maintaining the safety of employees within the plant.
  • Ensuring timely processing of linens to meet customer scheduling requirements
  • Ensure customer quality standards are met and/or exceeded
  • Implement strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement of production.
  • Work with all other departments to ensure that the necessary resources are available to sustain an optimal production schedule, including maintenance of equipment, scheduling of pick-ups and deliveries, and availability of supplies
  • Forwarding daily in weights to the VP of Operations and the President.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for all direct reports during the 90-day probationary period and afterward, a minimum of annually, in conjunction with Human Resources.
  • Communicate daily or on an as-needed basis, the operational successes and trouble areas of the entire production process.
  • Assist in maintaining a work environment that reflects a commitment to protecting the health and safety of employees.
  • Promote and maintain a “team” work environment in which all supervisors and team leaders work together and can problem-solve production challenges.
  • Cross-train all supervisors (twice yearly), to ensure supervisors are capable of functioning in each supervisory capacity, including, Sort, Finish, and Small Accounts.
  • Identify and support the development of internal talent in preparation for future advancement and promotional opportunities.
  • Maintain daily contact with all supervisors and team leaders to keep abreast of personnel needs and challenges. Communicate this information to the Human Resources department daily.
  • Foster and maintain a working relationship with all departments.
  • Assist and provide operational input for writing and/or revising the Job Safety Analysis sequential steps to make sure all of the steps associated with a job are accurately recorded.
  • Maintain written documentation of all incoming customer quality issues.
  • Work with the departments associated with the process of corrective action for this customer calls, in a timely and effective manner.
  • Keep President and/or CEO advised of customer calls and actions taken to correct the process.
  • Maintain continuous supervision of production processes, including spot quality checks and identification of production problems. Troubleshoot for “cause” and “fix” action.
  • Ensure work schedules, task rotation, and advancement opportunities are fair and equitable.
  • Assist supervisors in maintaining an optimal retention rate with an emphasis on working to keep individuals employed at Reino Linen Service.
  • Administer corrective action to employees
  • Perform performance evaluation for employees in a complete and timely manner
  • Manage the workload of all direct reports to a 40-hour workweek to the extent possible, with minimal overtime.
  • Respond to shift demands and challenges by adjusting personal work schedules to work with both day and night shifts.
  • Perform all other duties as needed and directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively train others.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing/production experience, including at least five (5) in management and experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment, healthcare linen experience is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with, relate to, and motivate all employees.
  • Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle conflict resolution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be willing to provide daily on hands support to the operations team
  • Proven experience in team management with effective leadership, coaching, and training ability to lead a team toward process improvement
  • Able to collect data, organize data and use this data to troubleshoot and improve processes.Responsible for the profitability of the facility.

· Establish plans, and budgets, and measure results.

· Implement corporate strategic plans in the facility.

· Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to budget activities, fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

· Communicate values, strategies, and objectives.

· Assign accountabilities, plan, monitor, appraise, and document results to staff in a timely fashion.

· Hold weekly team meetings.

· Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members.

· Monitor efficiency in the plant, working with the production, maintenance, and transportation teams to ensure that the product flows through the plant most efficiently and cost-effectively.

· Enforce quality service in the plant, working with the production team to ensure that customers receive quality products at each delivery.

· Oversee the delivery of products, providing quality and timely service to our customers.

· Responsible for day-to-day activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, and/or distribution of products.

· Promote sales to new and existing customers offering services and eliminating obstacles.

· Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees.

· Enforce ethical business practices.

· Work with company directors to help solve daily issues.

· Participate on committees and special projects and seek additional responsibilities.

· Respond to all safety concerns quickly and implement solutions to prevent accidents, incidents, and injuries.

· Assist staff to grow and develop within the organization.

· Oversee facility budget, expenses and revenue, invoicing, plant operations, customer relations, employee relations, and maintenance of safety and health at the facility.

· Travel throughout the business day to customer sites, approx. 20%. Some overnight travel is expected.
