Our central focus is to manufacture components for endoscopy and related disciplines. The primary challenge facing our customers is the availability of precision endoscopy replacement parts. We are focused on filling these gaps for our customers by providing high quality precision replacement alternatives.

We are looking for a Mechanical/Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our team in expanding our product offerings. Must have experience in SolidWorks / Skilled in Mathematical Calculations / Mechanical Design / Drawing Creation and Maintenance / Attitude for Winning. Experience in extruding polyurethanes, braiding stainless steel wire and coatings applications a plus.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide functional design of components or assemblies.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments on various projects, producing detailed and assembly drawings for fabrication and quality drawings as needed.
  • Develop innovative design techniques to maximize efficiency.
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and/or tooling.
  • Design any tools required to manufacture the product.
  • Take projects from concept to market, determining appropriate process methods and recommending materials.
  • Prioritize and manage tasks to support schedule.
  • Evaluate a design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Investigate root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements.
  • Generate new ideas, go beyond the status quo.
  • Estimate costs, production times, or staffing requirements for new designs.
  • Ability to use measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, OGP, Optical Comparator, etc.)
  • Ability to use or learn a 3D CAD system, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Manufacturing Processes required to produce parts.
  • Work with other departments to resolve component functional problems.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining necessary procedures and records of Design & Development as required by the Quality Management System

  • Complex Problem Solving -- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Mechanical Aptitude - Familiar with fabrication and assembly practices
  • Decision Making -- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Systems Analysis -- Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Manufacturing Disciplines - BOM's / MRP /Drawing Structure / Lean Methodology
  • Equipment Selection -- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Operations Analysis -- Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Quality Management System - (ISO preferred).
  • Applications - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand and evaluate products and processes on the manufacturing floor.
  • Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
