We’ve got a great opportunity for a Housing Voucher Case Manager/Voucher Administrator to join the Housing Team under the Outreach and Engagement at 41 Montebello Rd. in Pueblo, CO.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM


What You’d Be Doing

As a Housing Voucher Case Manager/Voucher Administrator in the Housing team, you would play a significant role in helping tenants access services and resources and take the next step to wellness. The Housing Voucher Case Manager maintains a caseload consisting of multiple types of voucher recipients and can complete Housing and Urban Development/Department of Housing (HUD/DOH) requirements for housing vouchers. This position will provide services in tenant’s homes, in conjunction with services at Health Solutions, and at other locations in the community that provide a setting of natural support for the tenant. This position will report under the administrative supervision of a program director.

Specifically, the Housing Voucher Case Manager is responsible for:

  • Voucher case management services for voucher recipients
  • Complete new admissions/lease-ups
  • Voucher issuance
  • Work directly with landlords for maintenance and/or repair of property
  • Report directly to the Department of Housing as we are a partnered agency with the State of Colorado.
  • Complete recertifications each year to include inspections of the property.
  • Complete interims (voucher changes)
  • Hold tenant conferences for housing violations.
  • Work directly with landlords to ensure payments are made to them from the state of CO on the tenants’ behalf including protected financial information, beginning and stopping payments accordingly.
  • Will make appropriate departmental referrals to Health Solutions for tenant to address any mental health; and/or substance use needs, as well as linking clients to community resources.
  • Completes Housing Quality Standard housing inspections to ensure housing structure and functions meet HUD/DOH housing guidelines.
  • Coordinates property management or the Spanish Peaks Apartments.
  • Participate in community-based committees to address homelessness needs.
  • Keeps accurate, complete, and up-to-date records within compliance with Health Solutions and HUD/DOH standards.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by the Director or his/her designee.
  • Physical requirements include the following:
  • Requires standing, sitting, driving, and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items up to twenty pounds.
  • Requires working under stress in emergency situations.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record data electronically and communicate with clients.
  • Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
  • Requires occasional driving in adverse weather conditions.
  • Requires frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.

What We’re Looking For—The Must-Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Administrative support experience
  • Valid Colorado Driver License, good driving record, and access to transportation is readily available during working hours required.
  • Computer proficiency required.

What We’d Like to See in You—The Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience successfully working in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience working with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Experience providing case management services to adults, and community systems navigation are desired.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of HUD/DOH rules and regulations.
  • Elite Emphasis Software knowledge
  • Enterprise (earned) Income Verification knowledge.
  • Experience working with co-occurring disorders desired but not required.
  • Spanish language skills desired but not required.
