HSNT is currently seeking a Compliance and Risk Manager based in our Denton, Texas offices. The purpose of this role is identifying and/or managing initiatives leading to new services or activities providing additional revenue and/or meeting HSNT strategic goals.

The Compliance and Risk Manager will help to enable the organization to achieve its mission, while consistently searching to find new mission specific initiatives, while helping identify and implement, as appropriate, initiatives driven by the organization’s strategic plan and represents HSNT as a primary contact for partnerships and opportunities and for implementation of capital projects.

A day in the life of our Compliance and Risk Manager may look like this:

  • Manages a process-oriented, company-wide Compliance and Risk Program that is guided by standards, policies and procedures, Standards of Conduct, and HIPAA, and that effectively integrates subsidiary and key corporate departments (Legal, Human Resources, Education and Training, Internal Audit, Accounting, Marketing and Communication, Grant Development, etc) compliance and risk program to ensure conformity with applicable laws and regulations and mitigate risk.
  • Serves as the Compliance Officer and Risk Manager, including development and management of the compliance and risk programs. Prepare organization initiative, compliance, and risk reports for the staff and board on quarterly basis.
  • Provides leadership oversite for the Risk Committee and all health center locations for risk-related activities. 
  • Facilitates education of management, staff, Board of Directors, and contractors/vendors on compliance and risk related requirements.
  • Initiate, conduct, review, and monitor various risk mitigation reports, required compliance components (inclusive of staff training), campaigns, and incidents (i.e., SureCheck/OIG, Healthicity, weekly training report) and execute action steps and/or investigate when findings occur. 
  • Present compliance and risk updates to CEO, Board of Directors, and/or Board sub-committees as necessary.
  • Participate in various committees: HSNT Quality Committee, 340B Basics/Oversight, Community Committees various HSNT Board committees, and any other committees or teams as applicable.
  • Monitor information from AHI Compliance briefs, HCCA briefs and SCCE briefs relative to compliance. 
  • Partner with CEO to facilitate Strategic Planning process, produce Strategic Plan documents and reports. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for facilities issues and serves as the interface with building management/landlord for each site. Cultivates relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the CEO.  

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, qualifications, and skillsets:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s level preferred. Related work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in a compliance or risk management leadership role, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare. Strong preference for experience in an FQHC/HRSA environment.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills required; teaching and training experience necessary. Ability to communicate and interpret compliance policies, procedures, regulations, reports, etc. to personnel and government agencies/personnel.
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the compliance and risk management programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for supporting the delivery of quality care and maintaining sound business practices. Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations, assess business objectives, develop, implement and monitor effective business plans for improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience building and utilizing databases and spreadsheets. Advanced MS Word, PowerPoint Excel capabilities. Experienced Internet researcher.
  • The activity for this position requires the employee to work in-person onsite, sometimes in a clinical setting.
  • May be required to work alternative schedules.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
