Since 1988, Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group has been providing expert diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. The practice has locations in Carmel, Newburgh, Mount Kisco, and Fishkill, New York, and another in Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury is also the home of its Orthopaedic & Specialty Surgery Center, a leading multi-specialty surgical facility.

Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group physicians are board-certified, having completed extensive training at leading medical institutions across the United States. Team members specialize in all aspects of orthopaedic care, treating knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, foot, and ankle pain. They also diagnose and treat a comprehensive range of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions responsible for neck and back pain.

Somers Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine has an immediate opening for a Nurse Practitioner to work in our Pain Management Division with locations in Carmel, NY and Danbury, CT. Somers Orthopedics is the region’s premier orthopedic group.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients experiencing pain, including medical history review, physical examinations, and interpretations of diagnostic tests. Evaluate the intensity, locations, durations, and impact of pain of patient’s daily functions.
  • Collaborate with Physician Team with diagnoses, assessments, and formulating treatment plans.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications for pain management, including opioids and on-opioid analgesics.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and implement strategies to minimize the risk of substance abuse or diversion.
  • Assist with interventional pain procedures.
  • Educate patients and families about pain management strategies, medication usage, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
  • Offer counseling on lifestyle modifications, stress reduction, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner in NY and CT.
  • 2 years’ experience in out-patient pain management program.
  • Will consider a new graduate who expresses an interest in the specialty of Pain Management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.

Salary: From $120,000.00 per year
