Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness, managed by HealthFitness, has an opportunity on their leadership team in Bentonville, AR. The Youth Activity Director reports to the Business Operations Director and is responsible for Youth Activity Center supervision. Collaboratively develops and delivers youth related programs and services for our licensed out-of-school time facility. Youth Activity Director Leadership, programming, and engagement in the Youth Activity Center (YAC) Key Accountabilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, orienting, and training, evaluating, developing, and planning the succession of department associates. Oversees 2 full-time Youth Coordinators and a staff of part-time YAC and Camp associates. Works with the Business Operations Director to ensure all youth activity staff is properly trained and hold certifications necessary for licensure and to safe/effective program delivery. Provides continuous feedback and regular performance appraisals to YAC staff to ensure quality of all programs and services. Leads regular staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness and Walmart business events. Submits employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and HealthFitness policies. Provides input to the GM regarding the development and implementation of youth activity programming for the yearly strategic business plan. Leads the development, interpretation, and enforcement of all systems, policies and procedures of the Youth Activity Center, programs, and services along with the GM. Develops YAC systems and processes. Tracks and reports upon YAC usage data. Maintains accurate records and ensures confidentiality of data collected during activities. Plans activities for the children and assists with stimulating and age-appropriate games, tasks, and special events. Supports the coordination of marketing and communications to maximize program engagement. Communicates with YAC participants and parents. Manages all youth related program activities, summer camps, and special events in accordance with HealthFitness operational, quality, safety, and service standards. Engages and interacts with participants of all ages ranging from infants to teens. Creates and maintains bulletin boards, newsletters and other YAC marketing and communication materials. Develops weekly staff work schedules for the business unit. Other duties as needed/assigned. Education & Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Recreation, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience. 2 years of experience working with youth/children and a minimum of 1-2 years of prior supervisory experience. Ideal applicants may also have one or more of the following: Out of School Time Credential, Child Development Associate Credential, Director's Credential, or Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Adult/Child/Infant CPR, First Aid and AED certification through the American Heart Association, Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute. Excellent customer service, communication, leadership, organizational, supervisory, and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, meet deadlines, and collaborate with all business units, parents, and children. Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
