AboutI am the medical director for St. Luke’s Memorial, located in Lufkin, Texas. I have been a part of Sound Physicians for five years. I’m proud of the hospitalist practice we have built and welcome interest from advanced practice providers (APPs) coming out of training or desiring a career change. I’d like to share more about it, specifically about our people, practice, and purpose, as you consider options:
People
- We are a closely knit, established team of nine physicians and one advanced practice provider (APP), with the support of a clinical performance nurse.
- We have a diverse group of clinicians from different cultures, backgrounds, and training programs. It is a wonderful group of people with a sense of comradery and team culture. We are good at finding common ground and leaning on each other for support and knowledge.
- We have a wonderful CEO and hospital leadership team that is incredibly supportive of our team and what we are working to accomplish.
- Many of our team members like hiking, fishing, and camping. We have two national parks and proximity to the Houston area for weekend trips.
- We welcome the challenge of complex cases, working in an open ICU with intensivist coverage during the day and on-call at night.
- We usually meet monthly for team meetings and have daily huddles with the team.
- Most of us like to spend time with our families or outdoors.
- I’m looking for a strong clinician who has integrity and will support the team we’ve built. We have internal programs to develop or fine-tune your leadership skills while connecting with a cohort of other emerging leaders.
