The Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator(MDT) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the multidisciplinary team (MDT) response to investigations involving child abuse allegations in the respective jurisdictions which Healing Hearts CAC serves. The MDT coordinator designs and implements strategies and specific procedures that will strengthen the coordination of joint investigations, improve communication among team members, and enhance the overall collaborative approach at all stages of the child abuse cases through Healing Hearts CAC and its MDT.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MDT/Intake Coordinator is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:
· Receives referrals from partner agencies and other referral sources, completing the necessary intake assessments and obtaining all background information
· Produces monthly quarterly, and annual reports for the purpose of tracking intake activity and outcomes
· Ensures that all cases that meet or may meet the protocol for case review are appropriately staffed during case review meetings
· Schedules appointments and coordinating services
· Assists staff with case management and crisis intervention as necessary
· Uses structured Outcome Measurement Surveys (OMS) in order to gather data regarding ongoing services and/or services needed
· Enters data into the case management system, Collaborate and data entry from MACWIS
· Maintains current records on each child and updates information given or received by MDT members
· Documents follow-up services for clients served as it relates to the criminal case disposition
· Facilitates and leads all facets of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including law enforcement personnel, case workers, prosecutors, medical and mental health personnel by organizing, calling meetings and communicating with the MDT in a timely manner
· Creates an MDT Leadership Team and coordinates quarterly meetings to update protocols on a regular basis and ensure proper communication among team members
· Participates in case staffing, individual and group staffing; and weekly case reviews, as well as documenting the weekly reviews
· Maintains MDT memorandum of Understanding/Agreement, working protocol and confidentiality forms, reviews, revisions and re-execution
· Establishes and maintains respectful communications and healthy relationships with all partner agency representatives
· Assesses and addresses on-going training and coordination of MDT team members
· Acknowledges understanding of all CAC positions in order to have a working knowledge of the purpose of all CAC services
· Participates in pre and post forensic interview meetings
· Attends training as directed by the MDT Program Director and Executive Director
· Attends peer review trainings as needed
· Works in a professional and respectful manner with staff and team members
· Responsible for following the National Child Advocacy Center’s, National Children’s Alliance, and the Children Advocacy Center of Mississippi protocols and standards, as well as Healing Hearts CAC Policies and Procedures
· Participate in annual performance evaluation conducted by MDT Program Director
· Any other duties assigned by the MDT Program Director or Executive Director
Qualifications Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of two years’ experience working with child abuse victims
· Knowledge of child abuse dynamics and child development
· Demonstrate discretion, maturity, integrity and compassion in handling sensitive issues
· Strong written, communication and verbal skills; communicate effectively with persons from all components of the community; exceptional problem solving and organizations skills
· Willingness to work with a flexible schedule when necessary
