Seeking Reading Test Administrators!
HeadwayWorkforce Solutions is seeking Reading Test Administrator to work on a nationalevaluation of an early reading program in the Chula Vista, CA area.
Reading TestAdministrators will conduct assessments of 2nd grade studentsreading skills in elementary schools in Chula Vista, CA. In addition, test administrators maybe asked to assist in collecting parental consent forms from schools. Individualswho have experience working with young children between the ages of 5-8 areencouraged to apply, especially retired teachers and substituteteachers!
Position Specifics
This positionwill begin with an in-person training the week of April 22nd in Chula Vista, CA on how to administer theWoodcock Reading Mastery Test, 3rd Edition, followed immediately byone day of practice. Testing will tentatively begin on April 29 and continue through May 24th. Please note,that testing may end early. Reading Test Administrators should expect 20-35 hoursof work each week during daytime school hours. Candidates must be willing totravel to local schools and work as part of a team. Qualified candidates mustbe available to commit for the entire length of the testing window. ReadingTest Administrators will only be hired if they pass all required backgroundchecks and pass a simple study-created certification test on administering theWoodcock Reading Mastery Test.
Job Requirements
●Be available to attend an in-person trainingtentatively scheduled the week of April 22nd.
●Be available to work 35 hours/week from April 29th through May 24th, from 7:30 am-3:30pm
●Access to personal, reliable transportation
●Be willing to travel reasonable distances toreach assigned schools
●Strong interpersonal skills with both adultsand children
●Strictly adhere to AIR’s and theschool district’s procedures to protect the privacy of children and families
●Maintain contact with the testing team leaderand other project team members
●Submit completed assessments andtimesheets daily to the team leader
●Ability to work well independently and underthe direction of team leaders
●Pass School District required background checkand fingerprinting processes; follow all COVID-19 and other health-relatedrequirements of the district and AIR
Preferred Experience
●Bachelor’s Degree in education, childdevelopment, psychology, or a related field
●Experience engaging with children from avariety of backgrounds
●Experience working with early elementaryschool age children (5-8-year-old children)
Training
Data Collectors will receive paid training inperson, tentatively scheduled the week of April 22nd. Attendance at training is mandatory.Trainees must successfully complete trainingto continue employment on the project.
Pay for this position begins at $24 per hour but will vary based on experience.Mileage will be reimbursed at $.67 per mile when traveling from one school toanother.
