Position Summary


Create a positive image of HDPE, Inc., achieve sales volume and gross profit goal, set up and perform in person sales calls, assist with communicating and coordinating bids and orders.

People in this position must be able to find balanced solutions that adhere to policies/procedures and yet satisfy customer needs on a regular basis. They must be able to bridge the gap between company and customer needs.

Essential Duties

  • Perform outside sales calls within the prescribed budget and ensure a high level of customer service is provided and a high level of representation provided for the company.
  • Compile and present annual revenue and gross margins forecasts and budget anticipated to support
  • Perform marketing activities / customer entertainment according to established plan within the prescribed
  • Continuously provide input for identification of new opportunities
  • Provide customers with technical support as it relates to specifications, plans, products, or services
  • Perform research to investigate other potential products, services, or Present these products, services and markets to the Vice President Sales and Marketing as part of a strategic sales and marketing plan
  • Ensure sales activity level or amount of sales call conducted is in accordance with department goals in support of planned sales volume goals
  • Responsible for identification of new potential customers and consistently maintain call volume with new potential and existing customers.
  • Obtain and communicate information required for Inside sales to prepare quotes and ensures quotes are submitted by the due date. Reviews quotes, ensure gross profit goal is achieved, verify specifications and ensures quotes are comprehensive and accurate
  • Perform customer demonstrations or training for specifications, products or services as
  • Complete weekly status reports and weekly payment collections for their past due accounts

Work Environment

  • This position will be working primarily indoors in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment, but also Requires the employee be working in customers' facilities and job sites with varying temperature conditions, some similar to outdoor the normal auto and air Travel hazards will apply. Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions possible.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher in other areas or when visiting customers' or vendor
  • Traveling by vehicle most days to visit customer's office and/or job sites

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of

  • Must be able to complete repetitive motion of hands and arms to input/retrieve information from
  • Must be able to bend/reach to get materials from floor, high and low

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and provide technical product and specifications input for estimating process
  • Requires sufficient mathematical skills to compute prices and perform technical
  • Requires working knowledge and ability to successfully work using Microsoft Words and Excel

Education

  • High School graduate with related work experience in HDPE products, fabrication & fusion sales or an equivalent combination of
  • Vocational training in HDPE products, fabrication and fusion with a minimum of five years HDPE products, fabrication and fusion or similar

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must pass a Drug Test
  • Must pass a Background Check
  • Must pass Pre-Employment Tests (if applicable)
  • Must pass Pre-Employment Physical

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 Years Experience with HDPE Shop and Field Fabrication
  • 2 Years Experience in Inside Sales / Account Management

Authority

The Sales Representative has full operating authority to fulfill the responsibilities of the position as described in this Job Description, within company policy. He/she may delegate portions of this authority to direct subordinates for executing directives and enforcing Policies and Procedures. However, he/she retains total responsibility and accountability for the success of the operations assigned to him/her.

Determines selling prices, authorizes customer discounts, and negotiates sales deals within gross margins established. Can take action, no higher contact necessary.

Offers sales discounts or other promotional offerings within established guidelines, within framework of gross profit goal. Can take action, no higher contact required.

Makes recommendation for customers' credit limit and submits to Vice President Administration & Finance. Awaits credit approval and final credit limit decision.

Purchase entertainment activities such as, golf, lunches, dinners, fishing trips, etc. & gifts for customers within company policy and within the set expense budget guidelines
