Job Summary and Qualifications

Transcribes a wide variety of dictation which requires knowledge of medical terminology; performs general secretarial duties including assisting Medical Staff/Allied Health Professional (AHP) Staff, by providing necessary information and materials, preparation of correspondence, filing, mailings and maintaining current policies and procedures for position functions. Knowledgeable of the Medical Staff organization, it’s Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Policies and Procedures. Attends Medical Staff Meetings as assigned

What qualifications you will need:
  • CPCS Certification, or on track to obtain within 1 year required
  • High School Graduate or GED. AA or AS Degree preferred, but not required.
  • 2 years’ experience in a Medical Staff Department in an acute hospital required with responsibility for coordinating meetings, preparing minutes and necessary follow-up. Some Credentialing experience required. Must have Microsoft Office computer skills, experience with Credentialing systems and experience with data entry in other systems

Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Center of Excellence for Surgical Weight Loss and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
