Job Summary and Qualifications

This is a Part-Time Position

This position is primarily for nursing services provided in our Pre-Admit Testing offices: we have x2 locations: Lady Lake, (Villages) and West Marion campus.

We are seeking an Outpatient Surgery RN to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to care for adult and pediatric patients prior to surgery. is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments. Also Phase II care to those who have received anesthesia, including: local with sedation, regional, general, or spinal. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

The OPS RN is a registered nurse who directs the daily flow of patients through the PreAdmit and outpatient medical/surgical process. Activities include planning daily staffing assignments ensuring a match of the skills and talents of the scheduled staff to the needs of the patients. The OPS charge nurse will ensure completeness of all assignments and relief scheduling. The Outpatient Services RN is a registered nurse who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care to patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised prior to surgical or other invasive procedures or tests. The outpatient RN nurse plans and implements nursing care to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient having a surgical or invasive procedure or other diagnostic exam. This job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student. Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

Job Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing Required, Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred
• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required
• BLS
• ACLS within 90 days of hire/transfer
• PALS within 90 days of hire/transfer
• NIH within 90 days of hire/transfer (tracked through Healthstream)
