Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), you will work to provide patient care in critical emergency situations. You work with a team of physicians and multiple other healthcare professionals. You will assist patients where their condition vary from minor to critically ill and/or injured – every case is different and interesting.

Tasks and responsibilities, you will:

Assess, plan and evaluate patient care needs.

Prioritize patient care based on acuity level and available resources.

Assist physician during examination, treatment and procedures.

Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds and monitor vital signs.

Monitor, record and communicate patient condition, as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation system.

Provide age and culturally appropriate care.

Position Qualifications

  • FL RN Licensure or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS & PALS (AHA)
  • TNCC & CEN, etc. preferred.
  • 1 year M/S or ED RN experience
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.

Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and children.
