Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Teaches and explains the operation and function of the Hospital systems. Air conditioning, Heating, Vacuum systems, Plumbing systems, Emergency Power system, and Fire alarm system.
  • Instructs on component adjustments, calibration and troubleshooting of the above systems.
  • Conforms to safety standards of the department by using proper safety equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications for installation and maintenance of equipment and apparatus.
  • Schedules the work of assigned personnel to assure full coverage 24 hours a day, seven day a week.
  • Plans the daily activities of all assigned personnel. Periodically inspects jobs completed for quality of work.
  • Ensures all emergency systems (fire alarm, emergency power, etc) are functional and operate properly.
  • Performs individually or as a member of a group assigned tasks during emergencies such as fires, snow removal or disasters.
  • Requisitions tools, material and equipment as needed.
  • Assists the Director of Plant Ops in serving as host to personnel performing mandatory inspections to include the Fire Department, Fire Marshall, Insurance Groups, JTC, AHCA, and all regulatory Agencies.
  • Communicates, cooperates and performs related duties with other members of hospital staff in a courteous and efficient manner to achieve overall hospital goals and objectives.
  • Performs timely performance evaluations of supervised employees following review of the evaluation with the Director.
  • In conjunction with the Director, conducts interviewing, hiring and discipline process for supervised positions/employees. To include Plant Operations, Security, and PBX employees.
  • Ensures hiring practices conform to appropriate Affirmative Action/EEO practices and regulations.
  • Consistently is on time and ready to work at start of shift. Does not take advantage of sick time or personal days. Takes corrective action to prevent recurring absences.
  • Always appears well groomed and observes the hospital dress code.
  • Responds to requests from patients, physicians and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner, always demonstrates positive interpersonal skills.
  • Promotes positive customer service with internal and external customers.
  • Plan and coordinate projects under direction from Director of Plant Ops.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
  • 3-5 years experience Required Years of Experience
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
